"Unforeseen circumstances"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

I have recently transferred from KGH and would like to say how good the medical staff at Queens are. Unfortunately however, I have not yet seen any. I received an appointment for 8th May which was subsequently put back to 19th June, 3rd July and now 17th July. It's so frustrating. Whilst I appreciate that I am not the only patient, I wonder how many more times a department can use the excuse 'unforeseen circumstances'. Not only do the repeated changes mean I now have insufficient forms for monthly blood test monitoring, I have to try and re-arrange the leave I have booked on three separate occasions for the appointments. I'm starting to think KGH may have been a better option even taking into consideration inappropriate comments that were made to me.

Thank you for your comment. I am sorry that several of your Rheumatology appointments have been cancelled and I appreciate this must be very frustrating for you. Although there often are unforeseen circumstances for appointments to be rescheduled, I’m sorry that the department did not give you a full reason as to why this was the case. To investigate this for you, I require more details. Please contact me through our PALS team on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk. Yours sincerely, Stephen Burgess Medical Director
