"Neurology Appointments"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

This has to be one of the worst services in the country. My wife who has been referred for an appointment had one given for the beginning of April just before the 12 weeks aloud for out patients just a few days before the appointment they cancelled it without an a good reason saying they would contact her back which they never did. After a few weeks she phoned Lincoln County Hospital and was told that a new appointment would be made and she would be top of the list that ageing was several weeks ago. It's seems to me they are rigging the system so they can make sure they meet the targets set by cancelling appointments at the last minute so the clock starts again. What a way to treat sick people. It's outrageous Must be one of the worst in the Country

Thank you for taking the time to tell us your experience. I can assure you that we are not rigging the system. The national target that ULHT works to is 18 week Referral from GP to Treatment. This means that the first appointment should be within the 18 weeks, and treatment would be given same time/or at a later date.

The national rules are that patient choice to change an appointment, or hospital cancellation do not stop an 18 week clock. The Patient Access Policy is available online on our website for the patients if they wish to read this. www.ulh.nhs.uk/about_us/documents/ULHT_Patient_Access_Policy.pdf
