"Breast lump scare not taken seriously."

About: Hereford County Hospital

My doctor sent me to the Charles Renton unit to have a lump in my breast checked. This is obviously a very scary ordeal and needs to be handled sensitively. I was asked to arrive before my appointment time of 10:30 (which I did) yet I wasn't called to be seen until 11:20 which is just awful. To be kept waiting that long is poor in any situation is terrible but when you are nervous and anxious it's even worse. When the female doctor called me in to be checked, she made me feel like I was wasting her time. She told me she couldn't feel a lump (even though my GP did) and eventually when shefound and checked it, she told me quite abruptly that I needed to wait and observe lumps over the course of over a month and that II'd been checking wrongly! Doctors need to remember how important each individual patient is and treat them with sensitivity and respect.
