My daughter was brought in on the consultants request to do an c section due to medical problems. We came in at 8am and were left in a waiting room for an hour. When a doctor came an hour later he said there were some delays but she would probably be took down on the afternoon. She was then put in a side room in a corridor and left there. there was no communication at all and we were left there until 1.20pm when someone came and told us that there was not enough staff to do the operation and she had to go home, ring back Monday and see if they could fit her in then. My daughter was absolutely distraught. The care was terrible as it did not exist. Surely you know how many staff are going to be in prior to that day to accommodate. The nurse kept saying elective c section but this was not elective.. we were there because of the findings from the previous day that the consultant found it necessary not to carry on and to deliver. This decision can not be made by ourselves. they kept mentioning about the duty they had to others but never brought the duty of my daughter into the equasion. I am utterly disgusted wit t he way she has been treat and was totally in shock. We are waiting the weekend out but what's to say we aren't going to be in the same position on Monday. Utter disgrace an very poor duty of care.
