"There was nothing to like about ..."

About: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (King's Lynn)

(as a relative),

What I liked

There was nothing to like about Leverington ward at the QEH. Howere Gayton Ward this month was totally different and the staff were very attentive even though the reason the patient was in wasn't as serious as when they were in Leverington.

What could be improved

The entire service, cleanliness, staff attitudes towards both patients and visitors, information sharing, it didn't matter who you asked you were told they didn't know anything and didn't offer to find out. They ignored patients even if they were in a bad way.

Anything else?

After visiting on this ward for approx 3wks, you could see why some patients die on wards and nobody notices, if meals weren't eaten they were just collected and thrown away. MRSA wasn't treated with the seriousness you would expect, wounds weren't re-dressed as frequently as they should have been in fact you wondered why the staff were there. If you had no one to speak up for you, you would have been left to rot! On making an official complaint, the basis of the reply was the staff have been spoken to and it wont happen again. As much as I would like to believe it, unfortunately I don't and also unfortunately this is our local hospital.
