"Drop in Physiotherapy"

About: Bodmin Community Hospital

This is an excellent service and clearly very popular. One suggestion would be to have some instructions about how the queuing system works. While it made for some friendly interactions, if there was a way of knowing what to do when you got to the reception area - maybe like they have at deli counters where you get a ticket and know where you are in the queue it would help. Staff were all very friendly and it was seriously impressive. I went as I have got elevated blood pressure and was told that they don't give advice on that. As it happened I also had another problem for which I was given very good advice. Maybe you could get some simple handouts for different clients. Thanks again.

Response from Bodmin Community Hospital

Thank you taking the time to comment on your experience of our Physiotherapy Drop-in Clinic' . It is good to hear you found the staff very friendly and were impressed with the service you received. Our queuing system works very much as at a deli counter, as you suggest, where patients are given a number in order of their arrival at the department. The service is advertised as running on a 'first come, first served' basis and there is a poster in the waiting area explaining this also. Sometimes service users arrive before the department is staffed and when the receptionist arrives at 8am she asks who arrived first and so on and we have found that people are always very honest and helpful in this, which we very much appreciate. The Physiotherapy drop in clinic is staffed exclusively by Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists who are qualified to deliver specialist assessment, treatment and advice for Musculoskeletal conditions. If you require advice for any other medical conditions you should discuss this with your GP. Thank you, again, for your kind comments, which have been shared with the team.
