"Excellent care"

About: Tameside General Hospital

After a miscarriage the care and support from the nurses and doctors has been second to non. I've been seen and dealt with in the most professional manor and also with care and support. Having to return to hospital with complications after the 1st procedure I was sent straight into A&E by my own GP and seen within 10 minutes. They were really busy but still found time to sit and hold my hand to reassure me everything was going to be ok, while they applied drips and did examinations. I was then taken onto a ward on Women's health. The following day a scan and a little procedure was booked for that afternoon. A consultant came from another part of the hospital to complete this for me after running her own clinic all day, and was probably ready for home but stayed to help out the team and myself, for which I am very grateful. The nurses are only human and often understaffed but that didn't affect the quality of care I was given. The doctors and nurses on the Women's Health Unit and A&E are worth their weight in gold. I couldn't say Thank you enough.

Thanks you very much indeed for taking the time and the trouble to post these most welcome comments on the patient opinion site.

We cannot emphasise to you enough what a great boost to morale it is for staff to receive comments such as yours.

It is very good to learn that staff still made time to give you the emotional support you needed at a difficult time in spite of them being busy as this is sometimes overlooked in the rush to deliver excellent clinical care.

To hear from you that doctors and nurses in these areas got it right for you will only encourage them to continue practicing in this way and remind others that this is what we must strive to do all the time.

Thank you for taking the time to post about your experience in what would have been a difficult time for you and offer my condolences for your sad loss.

I will ensure the areas you have mentioned receive a copy of your post

If you would like any further support please do not hesitate to contact me.
