"Very unhappy lady"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

I was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary's A&E dept on the 24th of February after my partner phoned for an ambulance a I was experiencing really bad chest pains from 10.30 pm. Two paramedics attended our home at 11.15 pm or maybe a few minutes later can't remember the female paramedic did an ECG and a few other checks everything looked fine but was still taken by ambulance. Got there just after midnight on the 25th was taken through to triage had anther ECG blood pressure taken. After that was taken through to the main part of A&E at 12.30 am waited for ages on a trolley waiting to be seen by a doctor and we thought that with me having chest pains think I should have been taken through to resus so I could have been monitored properly. Think it was after 3.00 am I finally saw a junior doctor who took some blood from me and told us that I might have had a small heart attack and wanted me to stay for a bit longer until they got the results back I was beginning to feel ok by then my partner wanted me to go home with him and so did I. Had another ECG that looked fine went through for a chest X Ray at 5.00 am was taken through to acute assessment unit half an hour later was waiting for the results of the bloods had a fourth ECG and more bloods. My partner went home before 8.00 am on the 25th Feb saw another doctor and told me everything looked ok on the first lot of bloods but was waiting on the second lot and if they were ok I could go home. Then just after 8.00 am was told they were keeping me in as my blood wasn't clotting and I may have had a small heart attack after all I cried. Was shown to a bed on the unit before 9.30 am had an injection to prevent blood clots forming and had some tablets. Was told by one of the doctors on their round that it does look like a small heart attack and would be transferred to Castle Hill Hospital to have an angiogram and wa sending a cardiologist to see me and explain what would be happening. She came just before visiting time in the afternoon and told me exactly the same what I already have been told. My partner and his mum were told by her that I definitely had had a heart attack. Was transferred to Castle Hill before 11.00 pm that night got onto the cardiology unit by 11.30 pm had better care was monitored properly had angiogram the following afternoon did not have a heart attack was broken heart syndrome left Castle Hill on the Thursday 26th Feb with more tablets on beta blockers and ramipril and just waiting for an appointment to have a repeat heart scan now. I got better care on the cardiology unit than I did at Hull Royal.
