"Totaly ignored"

About: Lister Hospital

The A&E Triage nurse and receptionist were lovely and helpful (Easter Bank Holiday Monday evening). Unfortunately the rest of the service was appalling. After an x-ray my 2yr old received no assessment of her pain score, her wound (an open fracture), or any treatment. After waiting for well over 3hrs I took her to another hospital who do not have a dedicated paeds staff and were busy receiving multiple all age priority calls, where she was seen and discharged in 2hrs. Worse of all no one from your paeds dept. has contacted me to ensure that the child has received appropriate care and follow up for her open fracture. As a Senior Sister with over a decade of A&E experience I would be horrified if this was my dept.

You’re clearly very unhappy about your experience with us over the Easter weekend, and we’re sorry that your experience fell short of that which you expected (though we’re glad that you found our reception and triage staff helpful). We’d like to look into this, so please would you email us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net with your daughter’s full details so that we can find out more and respond to you in more detail? Meanwhile, we hope that your little girl is making a good recovery.
