"totally disappointed, don't bother going there"

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road Campus)

Went to this hospital's a&e with a hope to be helped,, but instead I waited 4 hours to be seen, even though there were only a few people in the waiting room. After an excruciatingly long wait, I was given 5 minutes with the "doctor" who looked to me like a trainee doctor because she had to go to another room to ask for advice after examining me. She was unsympathetic and careless and she refused to give me any medication even though it was obvious I needed it, so I went back home in pain until I could obtain the necessary medication from my gp. Don't bother wasting your time with this hospital. Also, during my 4 hour long wait I noticed that some people would arrive and go straight in for an initial assessment after which everyone comes back in the waiting room to wait for hours to be seen by the doctor...miraculously they never came back to the waiting room. It seems ther are two exits from this a&e, one for the ordinary people who must wait for 4 hours to be seen and another for the special few.

I'm sorry you had to wait so long. All patients who come to our A&E are assessed on arrival and then prioritised according to the severity of their eye conditions, so I can only assume that those going in ahead of you had more urgent conditions. I have passed your comments on to our A&E team so that they can address your complaint about the doctor you saw.
