"This is a new hospital therefore ..."

About: University College Hospital Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing

(as the patient),

What I liked

This is a new hospital therefore looked nice and clean at the beginning but with each visit for my antenatal checks it got worse and worse. It has the worst staff and management. Midwife appointments are never on time and they give you very little time to do the checks and no time to ask questions. Receptionists are very rude and even yell at pregnant woman. Because of my heart condition I needed to see a consultant but it was impossibe to make it on the phone as they keep passing you to another person who doesn't know anything about anything. Then I finally manage to make an appointment and went there 3 weeks later I had to wait 2.5 hours to see the consultant. The doctor could not access to my results from the next building, I waited in her room for 20 minutes and by this time she was on the phone trying to contact to someone to get my results but she couldn't. I was then advised to make another appointment for 2 weeks later. Which meant queing behind 30 other pregnant woman at the reception and I gave it up.

What could be improved

Staff behaviour towards patients, they should threat pregnant woman with dignity and respect.

Anything else?

This is my first pregnance and I do not know much about giving birth. This hospital does not do tours to labour wards, antenatal classes are always busy and midwifes never have time to discuss your worries so I am dreading to give birth here.
