What I liked
Well what can I say I was totally disgusted with the treatment my best friend received for such a well know hospital. She was near the end stages of breast cancer and was admmitted with sevre swollen legs and mrsa, admiited on a sunday she was put on ward 12 in a side room because of the mrsa. she was left in the room with her legs dripping through the dressings ,we used blankets to wipe the floor clean as no one would come and sort out her legs when I took the blanket out I asked the nurse where could I put it ,beside the reception station i was told, about 20 mins later she came and asked why the blanket was so wet we told her why and was horrified when she releasied what was on the blanket. things just got worse in that room she was left sit in her wheel chair all night. we were the ones who made the bed and put her in it No dr came to see her even when we asked for something for the pain she was in evenatully on the third day we were informed by nursing staff that she was on the wrong ward but there was no beds available. On the thursday the family took the decsion to take her home she passed away a week later. No staff came in to help her it was all left to the family even complaining to the matron did nothing Why wasnt she put on the right ward where they are looked after in their finally days I will never forget her crying in pain the look on her face We had no clue what was happening as no one came to talk to us we didnt see a dr apart when she was admitted on the saturday night. We knew she was dyeing but what a way to watch someone go in so much pain, her pain control was not sorted out until she got home and district nurse and gp did it for her . when she passed away she was pai n free and you could seeit in her face I will never forget how she was treated in the new super hospital.
What could be improved
to be put on the right ward, and to be dealt with respect and dignity, pain should heve been managed better
That nothing likes this happens to anyone again
