"Nurses hygiene"

About: Warwick Hospital

When the medicine was given out on the evening by the nurses I noticed one of the trainee nurses handled my tablets by hand without wearing gloves. This was not picked up by anybody

Response from Warwick Hospital

It is not practice to wear gloves when dispensing tablets to patients. However, Nurses are required to gel their hands In between patients and if a nurse was administering liquid medications through a tube to a patient then gloves must be worn. Unfortunately we are unable to comment on your particular experience in more detail, however if you feel that further investigation is required, please contact our patient experience team on 01926 600 054.
