"Getting Out"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Maternity

(as a relative),

What I liked

Getting Out

What could be improved

The food. Every meal time the choices consider of bla bla bla oh and "A Pork Dish" Every day for over 2 weeks, the other options wernt exciting - the reality was even worse. Bland, disappointing, lacking in both taste and quantity

Anything else?

Not going into great detail here, but my parnter was heavily pregnant and had a blood clot in her leg. We found out about the clot after a scan on her leg, carried out by someone with little bedside manor talking as if she were working on cattle. Then the whole process of how to treat her and manage the babys delivery was a nightmare, constant contradictions by differing members of staff - whom when pointed out, clamed up and appeared to be more concerned they had contradicted a collegue. This culminated in a emergency c-section which at the time was handled and explained as if my partner was yet again another piece of cattle. The whole experiance left me totally disappointed with the system. Understaffed, overworked, underpaid and in my opinion under constant stress of being sued. They were more concerned with documenting every tiny detail than actualy talking to us as people. we found more details of our childs birth - through reading the notes, than we were ever told by the staff.
