having had a traffic accident in Eastbourne on a Tuesday afternoon, I was transported to the conquest hospital because Eastbourne DGH does not have a trauma unit. ! I cannot commend the ambulance crew enough, they were amazing, keeping my spirits up throughout the entire frightening ordeal. Having arrived at the conquest were the trauma team took over, they too were really efficient in dealing with every aspect of my injuries. However, once I was on the ward it was a very different story. Busting for the toilet, my pleas to be either helped to the toilet or a commode bought to me ignored. I asked for crutches so that I could get myself there, this was ignored too. I then messaged a friend of mine who was at work at the time on another ward, who, went to get crutches for me and bring them to the ward. The next morning I complained of neck and back pain, asked to see the doctor at 11 am. I was not given, or asked if I needed pain relief. 5 hours later I was still waiting to see a doctor, who never showed up, and still no pain relief.! I went home to Eastbourne and bought my own...
