"Day case surgery at Frenchay"

About: Frenchay Hospital

I attended the unit for the removal of a lipoma. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and later the nurse who would be overseeing my care throughout the day. I was impressed that she asked what name I would like to be known as, as I like to shorten my name. The operating staff were friendly and down to earth and happy to answer any questions I asked. Indeed we even shared a joke or two on the operating table! After the operation, I found the recovery team very attentive and keen to help in any way they could. I would like to thank all of the staff for the high level of patient care they displayed, especially the consultant and his team and the recovery staff.

Dear Mandy – thank you for taking the time and trouble to post details of your positive experience at Frenchay Hospital. I am pleased that you found the staff to be friendly and professional and that the nurses checked how you wished to be addressed. Clearly, the staff involved in every stage of your care tried to make you feel as comfortable as possible, and put you at your ease, at what is obviously a stressful and anxious time and I am glad that you appreciated their efforts. Your thanks have been fed back to all the staff concerned along with your kind comments. I hope that you are new fully recovered from your surgery. Kind Regards – Steve Sykes Advice and Complaints Team
