What I liked
The staff in the Leven Unit who were very caring.
What could be improved
I have been under the 'care' of a consultant for three years at this hospital. Unfortunately, I have never seen this gentleman, just different members of his team each time who never know what is the problem before they see me, I have to repeat myself every time I have an appointment. One of the team members has been very helpful, this gentleman I have seen twice and even though I am sure he sees a lot of patients, he actually remembered me and my problem before he looked at my notes. As well as the consultant, I have also seen MANY physiotherapists, and while some have been very helpful, other have not. The departments seem to work well independently, but communication between the two appears to be non-existant. They just seem to pass me between each other as my problem is still undiagnosed and no-one knows what to do next. They seem to make things up as they can't find the main problem and so treat conditions that aren't really there. It's very very frustrating!
Anything else?
I also noticed on my notes that one of the consultants team had thought that I was not genuine in my problem ... if I wasn't in so much pain, do they actually think I spend 3 years travelling to and from appointments and physio sessions just because I wanted to?!?!?
