New patients to this department have to wait excessive times because there is only one doctor for new and existing patients and he only does one day per week as he comes from the Q.E.( I know I cant believe it) I was supporting my sister who has breast cancer. She does not want to complain as she wants to avoid the fuss. We have to leave after 2.5 hours as she was having a panic attack as she is terrified, not that is ever considered. It seems that this service is run for the doctors not the patients. We arrived fifteen minutes early for the appointment and every one of the patients that came after was seen before her. Why have an appointment time at all? Of course we dont object to waiting a sensible amount of time but when someone is apprehensive waiting that amount of time is pure torture. Why is there not the full compliment of Oncology doctors?
