"Terrible aftercare!"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

I am absolutely disgusted with the aftercare provided by this hospital. My partner had surgery on his hand about a 6 -8 weeks ago. I couldn't fault the plastic surgery team at the time, they rushed him in for emergency surgery pretty quickly. However when it came to removing his stitches we got a letter 2 days before they were due to be removed saying they had to cancel the appointment and we would be sent another letter confirming the new appointment date. That was nearly a month ago and we still haven't heard anything from the hospital. I had to get my friend who is a nurse to remove the stitches for him otherwise they would still be in. We have tried calling to book another appointment ourselves but nobody answers the phone. The hospital have not tried getting in contact with us. My partner how has an infection in his hand and the wound still hasn't healed properly and there is no feeling in his hand at all. We are now having to go back to A&E wasting our time and resources that could be used for other patients, to sort something out which this hospital should have been following up on routinely. I work in a hospital myself and I am absolutely shocked by the level of care that has been shown by this hospital. I will definitely not be recommending you to anyone I know nor shall I be using you again myself.
