"Dermatology Team - Fantastic!"

Went for MOHS Surgery/Dermatology today. The team persevered through a long day of MOHS stages, from 9:30am-nearly 5pm. Moments after I left, one of the sites they excised began bleeding profusely. I wandered back up to Clinic 6 in the rare chance that any might still be around, as I think they were all meant to leave around 5pm, I wasn't expecting to find any, and had thought on going downstairs to A & E. But, a staff member saw me, got me a room whilst he ran after the Consultant, who had already changed out of his blues and was ready to head home, yet he didn't hesitate to grab another set of blues and jump right back in to attend to his patient. that member of staff, the Consultant, and one of their Sisters all stayed around for another hour or so, until well past 6pm, putting pressure on the wound, setting the room up to re-operate, getting the supplies they needed, removing and re-doing their stitches/sutures work, adding a pressure dressing. The 3 seemed to work well together as a team, especially long after a long day. Noting it was well after their shifts ended, they replied with a brilliant "well, of course we'd do this, this is what you need right now". I don't believe there was anything they could have done differently to anticipate the post-op excessive bleeding. They could have just as easily and understandably gone home, referred me to A & E downstairs (as it was after their hours) and I would not have faulted them for that. Their concern and compassion for my situation, and their determination to deal with this problem was absolutely, positively fantastic. Please extend to the Consultant, the member of staff, and their sister colleague my sincere gratitude.
