"Day Surgery Endoscopy Department"

My GP said that my appointment was not urgent but I only had to wait six weeks before receiving treatment. so I was very pleased as any sort of doubt about a medical problem causes some anxiety despite the doctor's assurance.. I found the department with little difficulty as I was helped by lovely volunteer. The waiting room in the DSED was pretty full but I was seen within half an hour and once I had completed the initial interview I was quickly taken to the changing area where everything was explained to me clearly and I was left to get changed, ready for the procedure. After this I was immediately taken to the medical room. Everything that was going to happen was explained to me clearly and I was listened to carefully. Throughout the procedure I was supported by a nurse who talked to me to take my mind off things and cheered me up with her delightful comments. The doctor also talked in a relaxing manner and kept assuring me that everything was going well. Fortunately, he found nothing wrong and was discharged. Overall, my experience was excellent. From the moment I entered the department I was treated with the utmost dignity ,consideration and respect. Tea and toast was waiting for me in the ward before I left and this was presented in a manner that many cafes should take note of. Thank you to all the staff for making a fairly horrendous procedure into a pleasant memory.
