Unfortunately, I have today had to visit a close friend who is extremely ill and has been admitted to this hideous place and surprise, surprise, despite all the reassurances about improvements made and contrary to all the posters they've put all over the hospital declaring what a wonderful job they're doing (what a joke!) I found my friend suffering from the same neglect as my relative had a few years ago... Important medication left out of reach and therefore untaken. Left unwashed all day until relatives visited and did it. Physically unable to put on bed clothes, was not given any help, even when requested, so had to stay in the hospital gown until relatives arrived. Found with leg hanging out of the bed and unable to move it back and right on the edge of the bed in a precarious way without the bed sides being raised (as they should have been). Call buzzer out of reach. Drinks out of reach. These are the things I found in just a one hour visit. Can you imagine what else I would have seen had I been there longer. No wonder this place is listed as having one of the highest mortality rates in the country.
