"Uncomfortable experience at City hospital"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was treated very well whilst in the short stay ward after keyhole surgery at the Nottingham City hospital. However, prior to the operation, I was made to feel uncomfortable by the anaesthetist. He was very annoyed that I was late going for my operation. He was rushing me down to to theatre along the corridor, and I was worried that this meant that my operation would also be rushed, so I asked for them to sedate me so that I would not see or hear anything they were about to do. The operation was successful but when I arrived home, though, I was vomiting all through the night. At some stage, I blacked out and hurt my foot, so my husband rang the hospital in the morning and I was told to return, as I might need fluids replacing. We arrived at the hospital and were told that we should wait in the day room at the end of the ward and someone would be with us shortly. After 4 and a half hours without seeing anyone, I decided to return home.
