What could be improved

I went to A & E with a friend, who had a deep cut above his eye, which needed gluing up. The triage nurses were so busy and disorganised, that it took 6 hours for a 10 minute job to be achieved. This was very disappointing, and the way the time was recorded on the hospital system, did not take into account the 3 hours spent in registration!

Sometimes our A&E department can be very busy. We are experiencing some serious increases in the number of patients attending the department and have been working as hard as we can to minimise the effect this has on waiting times.

You will be pleased to hear that we are in the process of planning to build a new A&E department, alongside a more effective model of emergency patient care.
