"My brother in-law was taken into ..."

About: Wexham Park Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

My brother in-law was taken into this hosp a week back. I live in the north of England so it has not been possible for me to visit. I have tried on many occasions to find out what his condition is but have been told by the nurses on ward 6 that they dont know . They insist that the doctors do not tell the nurses what his true condition is! I have been told that he has painkillers but they say the results of his Xrays are not known to them, only to the doctors. My brother inlaw is elderly, confused and lives alone. I am concerned for him. I have found it difficult to understand the nurses over the phone as english seems to be their second language. I tried to explain my difficulties to a lady on the hospital main switch board but she would not listen to what I had to say and continually spoke over me...very rude and unhelpful. I only wanted to know if there was a patient wellfare officer I could contact.

Anything else?

It would be helpful if after reading my comments ,someone from the hospital would contact me so that I may learn the true condition of my brother in-law. As I have mentioned , he is alone and Iam 300miles away. An unhelpful, uncaring hospital staff is the last thing the patients of Wexham Park Hosp need.
