"Humiliated and abused"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

The surgeon humiliated me in a common area in front of staff and other patients , I was refused pain relief as I had just been woken from a general anaesthetic and was asked could I have morphine to which I allegedly said no! I had already been asked was I allergic to any thing and said no! I was left all night in pain and discomfort I was constantly sick in a bowl and no one seemed to notice, I asked for something to help me go to the toilet At 10 am in the morning and was offered it at 3pm when I was being taken for an x ray. My canular fell out and was left on my bed tray with blood on it until my gran asked for it to be removed at 330. I was given a paracetamol drip at 830 which was not checked to see if it had gone through even before I went home. I was sent home with tablets and no further information. I was contacted the nest day by the only qualified nurse on duty the day before to say she was sorry that they had failed me! I am going to take my complaint to the local mp and newspaper as I believe my treatment was worse than a third world country. My stay at the EDGH has given me night mares and will now have to ask my doctor my anti depressants. I am afraid to look at my wound or ask any one to look at it in case I have to go back in there. I feel I had been punished because of the surgeons personal point of view I have evidence that my drug chart had been altered and don't understand why! I thought the NHS was here to help sick people get better with dignity and respect not be shouted at stating I was abusing the system because I wanted to know what was happening. ( this is what the surgeon shouted at me in a public area and said he was getting bad vibes of me) thanks dgh
