"Visit to emergency dept"

My son visited emergency department this evening afer experiencing episodes pf vomiting on amd off for ast 8 weeks. as a nurse i was worried that he may have some gastro problem such as an ulcer. he had been to Gp thos morning and was given anti emetic which he is unable to keep down and was to have bloods done in a day or so then reviewed I advised him to attend the deparent due to his dizzyness and increasing vomiting When he was triaged by a nurse who used an offensive word alot during this time, he was told theres nothing wrong with him it was probably just a virus going around and if he wanted to be seen, then he would be down as a waster or an arquard patient as there was nothing wrong with him and not seen as proirity I am fully aware of the pressures frontline staff are under but to be fobbed off in such an incaring and unsympathetic way is not acceptable by any standards I do not encourage my children to visit ergency departments for the smallest of things and remain concerned for him that he will be attending gp again in morning with hopefully a referal to another trust which will give him the respect he deserved And not to be labelled as a waster or as an awkward patient
