What I liked
Staff were supportive and approachable - when they had time!
What could be improved
The worst experience was at visiting times. There was little attempt to control the number of visitors per bed, and the fact that some of the beds seemed to hold picnics that overflowed into other bed spaces was annoying. Bringing in such meals must be a health hazard, especially as at the end they held a washing up session in the hand basin at the foot of my bed with no consideration for me who was recovering from open heart surgery. Staff just didn't seem bothered.
Anything else?
Why have limits on visitor numbers if they are not enforced? There were some very ill people in the ward who just didn;t seem to warrant consideration.
I was also unhappy about the manner of my discharge.
