My mother-in-law, a french lady of 82 years of age visiting her granddaughter in London was received at the Lewisham A&E on 18 January with a dislocated shoulder following a bad fall. My mother-in-law, her daughter, my wife, and I myself would like to send our sincere thanks to all of the people who looked after her that evening. Everyone was kind, friendly and efficient, from the ambulance team, the hospital admin staff, the porter ,the nurses (both the day team and the incoming night team) the x-ray technicians right through to the doctors and the senior docter (Registrar?) who finally put back her shoulder joint into place. What could have been a traumatic experience for an old lady not speaking any English, was made bearable because of the kindness and professionalism of all the staff. We were not kept waiting for any excessive period and were well informed by all the staff of what was happening. Many thanks to all concerned for a most impressive demonstration of the quality of the NHS..
