"complaint"

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary

On Sunday 5 January 2014 I came to your hospital after small accident that had happened in the evening in my bathroom, where I slipped. The doctor sent me for probably most relevant X-ray and according to non-findings discharged me from the hospital. On Sunday 12 January 2014 Ambulance brought me to the hospital with terrible pain and problem with my heart. I sat 3 hours on the chair and no one cares, so then I asked for sign the paper and went home. However, the following strong headache, I did visit my GP, who prescribed to me painkillers. According to stronger pain, I am not able to turn the head left or right side, nor even back, I did rang my GP in the morning at 8.30 AM as a first possible ring since the surgery is open. He did offer me appointment at 9.00 AM. As I was at this time in Ormskirk, Edge Hill University, It was impossible to drive in 30 minutes from Ormskirk to Wigan. Therefore I used painkiller again. But as the pain get during 1.5 hours worse, I felt disease and sick, I rang my GP again. He advised me to go straight a way to Wigan and Leigh Infirmary. 30 minutes after my arrival (arrival at 13.08) to the AAE department in Wigan and Leigh foundation trust, the nurse, who called herself a manager, asked me about my problem. Her behaviour was not nice to me from the beginning and she even did not let me explain the whole of the problem. However, she said to me, and I completely cited her: “If you were able to sat in University examination, you are able to wait for your GP. I do apologize, but I am graduate nurse with 17 years’ experience as an anaesthetic nurse in hospital and I never ever saw anyone, who should have professional behaviour, especially if they are working with people, who are not well, stressed and scared, to behave like this “manager” “nurse”. I am patient with pacemaker and I am maybe more sensitive than other health people if I am unwell. However behaviour of your staff member is absolutely unacceptable and honestly, those people should not work in hospital. I have terrible headache, but I am writing the complaint now as I cannot believe some person like this is working in hospital. I am passing this complain to independent professional bodies as well, who can check and deal with complaint about hospitals care and check if your staff is following appropriate law and NHS rules. Sincerely Monika Zeid
