I was in hospital a while ago after I attempted suicide. I was put on fluids and left in a room on my own.. the nurses did come in and check my stats but I was just left there to deal with my thoughts (Hello I attempted to end my life!).. yes, they treated the physical part of it, but the Psychiatric team didn't bother to come until around 48 hours later. So I was just sat on the bed and wasn't allowed to leave the ward otherwise I'd be put under a section. I tried to leave the ward at one point because I wasn't doing anything except sitting there waiting for the psychiatrist team to send someone to assess me. When the psychiatric nurse was eventually sent, he treated me like I was stupid. He was very patronising and made me feel a lot worse.. and when he had finished making me feel more suicidal, he discharged me. As soon as I got home, I attempted suicide again.. I failed but was unconscious for a while. So overall my point is the psychiatric nurse made me feel 1,000000000x more suicidal.
