"Unhappy with treatment on my 2 year old"

About: West Middlesex University Hospital

I was ref to an ENT specialist by Ashford walk in centre as my 2 yr old son had paper stuck in his ear. I was re assured that it wasn't a problem and this could be removed - He was traumatised by the nurse at the walk in centre digging around in his ear on Friday then yesterday it was even worse. The ENT specialist took a fine metal instrument out of a sealed packet and to make it into a hooked shape to drag the paper out of the ear canal he bent the probe against the brick wall! He then dug around in my babys ear with the probe - I feel this was barbaric for a 2 year old I assumed he would maybe use a little gas & air to relax him not ask me and my husband to pin his down. He then prescribe an ABX spray in case he has scratched his inner ear, he said if it oozes with pus use the spray! Really! We have left with the paper still lodged in his ear for a second time - I now have a private appointment tomorrow to see a consultant . I am very distressed by what was done yesterday
