"You only get one. My Mother "

As I said in the heading you only get one. That is a mother. So when they are taken ill and have to go into hospital, you want the best for them. However, this was not the case and in talking to other patients and relatives, many felt the same. From what I saw, the standard of Nursing care was non-existent. The Consultants and Doctors involved in my mother’s care were ancient, and needed to go on some sort of refresher courses, and maybe people skills training in how to deal with patients/relatives

Cleanliness of the wards I saw was disgusting. Why?

Everybody seem to be chasing round claiming they are so busy, doing what exactly? As every time we needed a member of staff, they were sitting at the nurses station passing the time of day. When asked to do anything rolled their eyes. The Consultant basically told my Mother that she should be expected to be the way she was, because she smoked when she was younger! This is a man who is supposed to help and reassure these people, not throw them on the scrap heap, no matter what. Do these people not get paid to do this job? yes they do, and so they should get on with it.

I would like to add that her care was exceptional whilst in Penrith Hospital
