"Voice mail ineffective"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Numerous calls to orthopaedic department at RGH reach voice mails but despite leaving contact details the calls are never returned. This represents, in my opinion, serious failings in communications and work practices and leads to frustration on the part of patients.

I am sorry to hear that you have experienced problems in having your telephone calls returned and apologise for this fact. We will ensure that all departments are made aware that there are problems with patients being rung back and will stress the importance of getting back in touch with patients.
