"Being seen on time"

About: Edgware Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Being seen on time

What could be improved

Administration and communication by Ante Natal Midwife to patient

Anything else?

I had a Glucose Tolerance Test test done as part of my pregnancy on 12/11/08. The results were entered on the system a couple of days later, but no one bothered to call me to inform that I had gestational diabetes which needed to be treated.

It is only when I went to Barnet Hospital on 04/12/08 for something unrelated, the consultant at Barnet informed me about the diabetes and assumed I knew. The consultant at Barnet made sure I was seen by the diabetic nurse and dietician on the same day but I am so unimpressed by Edgware and will ensure that I do not go there again for pregnancy related things.

When was anybody going to contact me about the diabetes (I had no further appts planned at Edgware)? Had I not had my appt at Barnet, I would not have known about the diabetes or to alter my diet which could have had very negative consequences.
