I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant (9/10 tests came back positive) one week before I started bleeding on the 24th March 2014. I was taken to A&E that day where they did a pregnancy test which came back positive also and told me to go to the EPAU (Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit) on Friday 28th at 10am with a full bladder so they could scan me to see if I had lost the baby or not. When I arrived at the EPAU they asked me to do a water sample for a pregnancy test. It came back negative so they did a blood test to confirm it and asked me to ring them at 4pm later that afternoon which came back negative. I was left to go home in floods of tears knowing I had lost my baby even though they never told me. All they said was ''you're not pregnant now''. I was fuming. Not only was I not helped in the slightest, I was left not knowing whether or not I had lost my baby. I was given no tests to see if I would need any further medical requirements. In conclusion, it was a waste of my time going to the EPAU as all they told was that I was no longer pregnant with no sympathy or any care in the world about how I felt. I would not recommend the EPAU at Doncaster Royal Infirmary to anybody.
