"Happy with treatment but sour taste left..."

About: Birmingham Dental Hospital

I came for my appointment recently. I was nervous but the nurse/dentist were very kind and I am happy with my treatment to date including the advice I have been given. I waited for my friend to pick me up in the waiting room and whilst there I heard 2 voices who I assume were members of staff behind the doors speak in the most derogatory way towards someone. As a teacher I am all to aware of bullying at my school, in fact over my career I know of a pupil who has committed suicide after being bullied. I was shocked to see it going on here. I can't say who it was as I didn't see them but I hope that the hospital is aware of bullying and harassment?

Thank you for advising us of the situation you overheard. The Trust does not tolerate bullying or harassment and will always support staff and students and take appropriate action when it is reported. Staff and students have specific colleagues who they can approach to talk to about any concerns they have, to decide how they would like to take their concerns forward, and there are formal processes available for people who wish to formally report their concerns. As a result of your feedback students at the hospital will be reminded of these arrangements. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention and we are delighted you are happy with the treatment and advice you have received whilst visiting the hospital.
