What I liked
I was treated really swiftly and extremely effectively from A and E, through radiography and onto the ward.
What could be improved
I was a bit concerned at having to leave the premises as quickly as possible (to free up a bed). I live on my own and was very worried about how I would negotiate the steep, narrow stairs with my leg and ankle in plaster. It would have been better if someone could have come and assessed the situation in my home. Luckily a relative came from some distance to help me but no-one asked if that would be the case. Better communication of what happens afterwards re subesequent appointments should also have been made.
Anything else?
I phoned up the hospital to ask about a subsequent appointment that the consultant had mentioned. I got through straight away and the sister explained clearly what would happen.
Overall my impression of the hospital service was positive.
