"care by NHS Fife"

I wish to gratefully record the excellent care provided to my father-in-law who was cared for from the cradle to the grave by NHS Scotland.

It is with thanks to NHS Fife, in particular the teams led by his GP Dr McLaren and his Cardiologist Dr Francis that my father in law was able to lead a fulfilled life for as long as he did.

To the team on Ward 23 at Victoria Hospital who gave my father in law dignity until he died. Having time with my father in law in a side room away from visiting time was very important to the family. We appreciated how the nurses talked with my father in law at night about his beloved, nurses should know what a comfort it was to my father in law and the family to know he was not alone in the early hours. My father in law was a very thin 85 year old man and it is a relief he did not have pressure sores and that was down to the quality of nursing care he received.

The simple offer of a cup of tea in our time of grief was also very much appreciated. We thank you all.

Even in the final day my father in law would tell us “he couldn’t complain”.

Thank you for the quality of the care and the dignity he was able to have throughout.
