After several years of putting off having a TURP operation and putting up with the side effects of the drug alternative I eventually reached the stage where it became necessary and had my TURP procedure on the 10th March 14. The Consultant, his team and the nursing staff in the Ambulatory Care Unit were all brilliant. I have limited experience with my only other stay in hospital being at a private facility and I can honestly say MK Ambulatory Care Unit was as good if not better than the Private alternative, the care was first class, the unit very clean and even the food was good! As for the TURP, there was no pain, no discomfort, within a couple of days I was home with no catheter or drugs, within a week I was out and about and after less than three weeks I am driving and just waiting for my waterworks to permenantly settle down. If you are booked for this procedure at MK you should have no concerns.
