"Treatment Centre! Not amused. The staff do not..."

About: Leighton Hospital

I realise that people reading my review will not know my full medical history. Here is the basic outline. Needed so people realise why I am so annoyed. Past 5 years, struggled with bowels. Swollen, painful, blood, tiredness, and the awful d to name a few problems. Visited doctors aug 13, they were unable to find the cause, referred me to the hospital. Few months later, get told its a fissure. Fissure cleared up but symptoms remained. Was called back to hospital, more messing about, consultant decided to investigate further, and do a flexi sig referral, at Leighton treatment centre. This is where the review comes in. Attended said appointment. Beforehand needed enema at home. I did this as instructed, but wasn't overly effective. Arrived at centre. Stated name, and informed receptionist had taken enema, but not sure it had fully worked. She said she would mention it. Little wait, get taken into actual centre. Changed and another small wait. Am taken for a little consult with a blond member of staff. Stated to her that I am not sure that it has worked, when she was taking blood pressure. Reassured it would be fine, and they would sort something, if it hadn't. Back to waiting. Another female doc comes, takes me through. I mention it to her walking down, she said it would be ok, and would mention it to the doc. Am left to wait in corridor outside a enema room funnily enough. Am then called through. Stated to doc I don't think its worked, can we try a clear out again before we both waste time, refused, and asked to lay down. Not a shock 2 mins later, that the doctor couldn't see anything, as guess what, I was right the enema didn't work! I mentioned it to 4 members of staff, before I lay down, and not one allowed another clearout. I was already there. So as they hadn't been able to see anything, had to get dressed again and go. Cheers for the 2 hour travel each way to find out nothing. Back to square one, and the hospital have advised to go back to the doctor, as I'm still having problems. I feel totally failed by Leighton. I was already there. The reason why I was referred to the hospital in the first place was that the doctor couldn't find where the blood laced number 2's was coming from! It's took 5 years of symptoms to get to this point and I'm still no further on. My doctor is doing another referral to another hospital, but I'm so disheartened by this. It would not have hurt to put me in the enema room for another 10 mins and take the next person in and delay my appointment, Could have got a proper look then. When your spending your day on the loo, and in pain, and blood is coming from where it shouldn't, and that is the response you get despite telling 4 members of staff, you can't be anything less than annoyed.
