I would like to thank the Princess Anne Hospital for setting up this service, I didn't realise it was there until I visited the hospital with an enquiry about the birth of my first child in 1973. After scouring other resources looking for maternity records and waiting for letters and paying a small fortune in acquiring them, I was at a dead end. With only a few pieces of paper gleaned from my GP records and other bits and pieces with no significant value to what I was looking for, I decided to approach the hospital head on and ask about any records still held. . The receptionist was very pleasant and kindly told me to take a seat and someone would come and speak to me. Someone appeared soon after and I soon felt assured she would do all she could to help me. She told me she would look through the archives and find out if there was any record still held and said she would contact me if she found anything. She telephoned me that same afternoon which amazed me because of all the people I had dealt with over several months, she was the most helpful of them all. Very professional and knowledgeable and true to her word. Thankyou very much for your help.
