About: East Surrey Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughters stay at East Surrey Hospital was horrendous but One Nurse deserves to be mentioned and her name is Dawn.

She was very professional and caring. She did her Job very well without having to be asked or reminded, she just got on with things, in fact she turned up for one late shift whilst we were there to a very untidy room where beds from patients who left earlier in the day had not been made. Even though in my opinion the day staff did have time to sort it out.

One nurse who told me she would try and get information for me immediately because my daughter was on nil by mouth for almost 13 hours still didn't get back to me after 20 minutes, I went to the nurses station and made it perfectly clear how upset I was. Nurse Dawn reassured me and was straight on the phone to get information. While the other nurses were busy with other things it seemed.

Well anyway, it was nurse Dawn that got us the information and not the nurse who said that she would find out immediately. Nurse Dawn needs praising and I feel strongly mentioning her for her impeccable bedside manner, caring and professional attitude. Your hospital needs more nurses like her!
