we attended the ortho clinic to have my sons fracture reviewed and a permanent cast put on following pins inserted into his wrist to help the alignment.. we were seen fairly on time.. the pre-xrays were looked at, the post operation xray could not be found... therefore when the old plaster was off and the new one one, we had the usual repeat xray. this was then reviewed... when it came up on the screen I said "Oh?" as considering it was pinned in theatre, the bone did not seem very well positioned back together.. the Reg was also delayed in saying anything.. he then said that as he was only 6 the bones would fix but that we were to expect a deformity.. i said that he needed this hand as he was left handed and already playing the piano etc, he said we could get physio referral.. why , if the bone was pinned should we expect a deformity?! if there operation xray was available we would have ben able to see if the bones had moved since it was plastered after theatre? 3 days on, i am trying to find out how to get his xray reviewed... Gp can't help, ortho secretary is way till next monday... other ortho secretary not answering phone. I have spoken to CAU to see of the can help me.. they are ringining me back later..
