Visiting children's A&E with our 3-year-old was all positive, caring staff who explained everything that was going on and genuinely cared for our little girl. However, trying to get an MRI via Rheumatology has been a nightmare. Radiology lost my referral twice and when I finally got an MRI I was told that it can take up to 10 working days for the report to be completed. We're now 3 weeks after the scan and nothing. If I try to chase any department for it I get zero interest. The staff on the phone in radiology were on the whole blunt and uncooperative and were frankly annoyed that a patient was calling directly to chase them up. "It will be ready when it's ready", "It will be sent to the clinic when it's ready". "What? You're the patient?!" If a private clinic can give a result in 48 hours, then what is taking 3 weeks? I suspect government budget cuts inducing staff shortages. On the plus side, The Rhuematology department have always been helping, understanding, polite and courteous. This is especially true of the clinical staff who clearly understand what I'm going through and how terrifying this can be
"Mixed feelings"
