I had a septoplasty done here last year. the doctor left a splint up my nose and didn't tell me when it was to come out.. my discharge letter had a follow up booked for 6 weeks later so i didn't do anything. After 3 weeks of suffering with congestion i was advised to contact them to see about removing it. I was bounced around their phone systems for hours getting fobbed off by one department and the next, eventually i used one of the doctors at my surgery to contact the hospital to find out. Went in and was rushed to a doctor by the 1 decent staff member (nurse) the uselss doctor told me that i was advised to get it removed but apparently according to his timings he told me this while i was still unconscious after my procedure. All in all a terrible service, seems the doctors are too concerned with getting out on time and when i complained i got excuses from the Pals team.... Apparently they have outsourced their telephone operators so any issues there aren't their problem and the doctor just sat on his statement that i was told.
"better avoided"
