I broke my ankle last week whilst Mountain Biking and had to make my way to the Royal Infirmary Hospital in Leicester.
I already had help at where the Accident took place and had some ice packs on my ankle with bandages securing it.
I got to the Hospital about 1.5 hours after my Injury as we were quite far from the center of Leicester.
Reception was quick in Adult A&E and I was told to go to the Nurse who would make initial Assessment. I told her I had a suspected broken Ankle and she told me to undo the wrapping and take my big football socks off, she didn't offer any assistance, not very friendly LOL!
As my normal manner is happy go lucky and suck up the pain sort of guy. I didn't mind too much, I got X rays done of the Ankle and then got to meet the DR or Male Nurse who told me that I had a broken ankle.
I think he thought it was funny as me and my mate were laughing about the whole incident but he was helpful and probably liked us as we weren't rude and quite talkative with him. After I got my first plaster on I was sent home. This took a total of 2.5 hours which must've been a record for A&E. I had to go back on a Sunday for the full cast and that only took a total of 20-30mins. So all in all I had a good experience at the LRI in Leicester.
