"Son's appointment in Out-Patients."

About: Addenbrooke's Hospital

Visited with my 12 year old son who attends for monitoring of his kidneys due to problems identified at birth. My husband spoke to the Consultant prior to the appointment and requested that he did not discuss transplants/kidney function etc in front of my son. The reason for this is that he is a real worrier and would panic if he heard all of these things. The Doctor completely disregarded this and proceeded to completely disrespect my husbands request.. So we were left to pick up the pieces after the appointment. Please could the medical profession listen to people's requests in a respectful manner...we know our son and how he works, they don't and need to respect our wishes in future.
