My elderly mother took ill on Sunday morning, vomitting copious amounts of bile. Doctor called ambulance which took 6 hours to arrive. Waited for ages in A & E, went for X-ray where nothing showed. Sent home at 10.35 pm with perscription for laxatives. A & E nurse suggested that I go to Boots The Chemist for my mother's favourite laxatives! It would be cheaper than getting the perscription - thank goodness I did not do this! Next day (Monday) my mother returned with same symptoms - admitted, X-rays showed nothing so she went for scan this time and then underwent emergency operation to remove gall stone the size of a golf ball that was blocking her duodenum. Her gall bladder had attached itself to her intestine and the gall stone had passed through. I shall be writing formally about this matter.
"Do not go here on Sundays!"
