"Mistake in administration"

About: Chapel Allerton Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I received my appointment letter to go for an ultrasound scan at Chapel Allerton Hospital, Leeds for Tuesday 11th. March 2014 at 3: 15pm. When I arrived to book in at the department I was told he didn't understand it but my appointment on his computer said the time was 3: 45pm and I could wait in the waiting area for my appointment time. He said the computer must have made a mistake. I was called in at 4: 00pm.

One of the assistants, whom I told, took a copy of my letter and said she couldn't understand why the man on the counter had not told them about the mix up as there had been a few similar occurrences that day. I told her he said the computer had made a mistake, and like me, she realised that computers don't make mistakes, it's the idiots keying the information in that does that.

So, some training is needed for this booking in clerk, who unfortunately wasn't wearing a name badge. Mistakes like this shouldn't happen.
